Silver Hammered

Bookmark and Share

As every investor surely knows silver has been nothing short of spectacular. So if you're wondering why we're talking about it again today it's because too many investors won't recognize the risk that buying now is too late. Instead, we're watching for the peak. You might be seeing the peak developing today.

Silver Contract

A closer look at recent action shows silver may have already peaked. On April 25th silver closed higher but it lost most of its gain. The following three sessions marked an attempted recovery with Friday April 29th's session dipping slightly as the price ran into resistance at the high. It's still a relativelly bullish development but silver is hugely extended. The premise of superb portfolio management is to time the market, maximizing returns and keeping the gains. The implication, for silver at this time, is to operate on the premise that a near term peak is approaching.

Silver Peak

Silver was down more than 6% early in todays session (hot showing, Monday May 2nd). The large decline follows the prior session's attempt to hold near the high. A deep decline indicates it isn't working. If silver doesn't cut its loss, this session may be the decisive blow in the hottest market since last August.
